Hi
you might like to be aware that Burns Pet Nutrition have a comp for most dog friendly town or village. They're giving  1/2 tonne food to a rescue centre in the winning town and a years free food to the winning nominator (?) picked out of the hat.
I reckon thats worth spreading the word about!
you can find out about it on their website http://www.burns-pet-nutrition.co.uk where there's an online nomination form

What a shame Milton Keynes council won't allow dog training in any of it's community halls, as it can't be beaten for dog walking facilities as far as I'm concerned :)

Oh well! the town where I live has no chance  dogs are banned from any and all green spaces :(  I have to go to the next town if I want to give my dog a run off the lead

Digger, I go to ringcraft in the west Bletchley community centre, so perhaps common sense prevails in good old Bletchley!

Ooh Lockerbie is good. The town Hall has allocated a room specifically for dog training. Whole hall is covered permanently is thick rubber matting. Dogs are allowed off lead in the park, except in childrens area, and pooh bins at all entrances/exits. And the nature reserve is 10mins walk from centre. Dogs are only expected to be on lead in one particular area (duck pond, squirrel feeders and bird hyde) And there are so many walks around here, all marked and the upkeep is quite good, mostly done by volunteers. All the shops, bank and post office happily allow my dogs.

That's because Bletchley Community hall is not owned by the council ;)  I like Bletchley, and live here myself :)

I would love to nominate our town but don't think i could answer all the questions. Most places we go are dog friendly. We love taking our dog to the pub and he loves it too he gets loads of attention.

Perhaps the form could also be filled in highlighting the negativity towards dogs in your relative towns

if they were to get enough of that type of forms Im sure that they would make special mention of those towns

sure, you wouldnt win anything, but maybe the worst towns could be shamed into being a little more aware and tollerant if mentioned
