can any one give me some tips on introducing a puppy to a current cat the puppy that i am getting is a vizsla

i have b4 introduced many kittens to a dog and vise versa.
Usually our cats will stay out of the way and gradually get used to the new pup, so long as u dont give too much attention to the pup and pay no attention to ur cats, we had a cat run away cos of it.  Dont kno if it was cos of the pup tho, but was in timing with it.
