Topic Dog Boards / Health / Eyes of teething puppies?

My 5 month puppy is teething at the moment. As a result he is on and off his food as and when one gets a bit too wobbly for crunching and his breath is often fishy. I've not been too worried about this but his eyes do concern me. In the morning he usuaally has sleepies in the corner of his eyes but at the moment he gets them all day. It's like a gooey yellow blob that forms in the corner of his eye over time. I wipe it off every few hours but it comes back. I've left it for about a week now and it isn't getting any worse but its not getting better either. sometimes i think his eye-whites might look a little blood-shot but i may be imagining it because i'm paranoid when actually it is no different from usual. He is totally bouncy and happy in every other way.I  haven't been to the vet because i figured that his symptoms were just the result of being a bit run-down from teething. What do you think? Could it be an eye-infection or could this be normal for some teething pups?

I've never come across this before. I would take no chances with his eyes and get him checked by the vet PDQ.

What breed is he, Just curious.  I have never come across this before either until summer started teething (very painfully) Her eyes also get a little gloopy, but I did take her to the vet to rule out any infection.  Never take any chances with eyes, please take him to the vet asap
