attended this wiht my Lexi and was very pleased to be among the 30 finalists (The Labrador was absent being in season).  The Schip finalist was substituted by the Shar Pei who had ben reserve to him.

Lexi was a very good gilrs and was shortlisted to the final 9 exhibits.

Best was Zena Thorn Andrews MIn Wire Dachs Draksleat Otto Bahn.  Reserve handled by Mike Gadsby was Afterglow Douglas Fashion, so well done Gwen!!!

The food was yummy and the wine was not bad either :D

Only moan, whose bright idea is it to hold such an event starting 8.30am on a weekday in the middle of London.  I was lucky in that my friend Treena who taxied me there has her daughter living in London and she kindly put us up.

Lexi acted as if staying away and being a big city girls was perfectly normal for her, doing her business very quickly on command esing the tiny bit of earth around the base of a tree within the concrete jungle outside the second storey flat.  She was a perfect houseguest!!!

Can I ask what happend to the Schip that he didn't compete do you know?

No all I know was the Shar Pei was in his place, shame as was looking forward to chatting to Mary.  Bet the person reserve to the Lab that is in season will be cross that they didn't get the chance to attend.  Maybe lab owner didn't realise that if they had let them know then the reserve could have gone?

Hi, they gave out over the PA that the lady with the schip had had a fall and was unable to attend.

Congrats should go to Mike, who bred Douggie, and of course prepares and handles him, his owners Rosemary Wilcox and Billy Cannell are delighted with him - he won his first CC & the Group at LKA.  His mum is Arrabella, and he was born after our first AI experience, he Daddy being a USA resident!  Congrats also need to go to Mike for making it across London to Heathrow in time to catch a flight to Philadelphia for the Spaniel Club show, at which Douggie's brother Dickie will be competing!  thrusday was a very busy day :)
bye

Once I left the ring I enjoyed it :D

I was very happy to be in the last 9, especially as we are only the third breed representative since 1978.

Felt we acquitted ourselves adequately, even though I was practically
trickle feeding Lexi treats from nerves, and praying for her to stand still.

Had several people (whose name tags of course I couldn't see to read :D) tell me she looked well.

Just wish it wasn't on a weekday if it has to be a London venue.  I lived in London all my life until 16 years ago, so the odd trip back is nice :D

Well done Brainless on being shortlisted, We were there with our Dobe, it was a brilliant day and got to admit I loved it in the ring.  But quite agree what a silly time to start for where it was.  We left S Wales at 2.30am just to make sure we were there in time, Although wasn't as bad as we had expected as we arrived at the car park at 6am.
Once again well done on being shortlisted, Just realised which one you were, we spoke at a show held at Shepton Mallet not so long back.
All the best Mandi
