I am interested in buying a puppy and the cocker appeals on appearance but I would be interested in finding out a bit more about the breed.

Hi guest, not that I am biased (having a English show cocker, a working cocker and an American cocker), but they are a great choice of breed!  Always happy, eager to be involved in everything and love being with a family!  I would suggest if you have specific questions, it would be worth your while getting in touch with the Breed Club.  If you click on the "contacts" option, you'll find all the phone numbers of all the regional breed clubs.  Ring the secretary and I'm sure he/she will be delighted to answer any of your questions and maybe even put you in touch with a few breeders so you could arrange to visit them and their dogs and get a better idea of whats involved with owning the breed.  Hope that helps and good luck with your search and whichever breed you decide on! :)
