My dog Ellie has been diagnosed by our vet with autoimmune haemolytic anaemia she is on high doses of steroids (injected)my problem is that she has completly gone off her eating. She has no appetite at all, she needs to start eating because the steroids are more effective in tablet form, the tablets are immpossible to give by hand 10 each day, and need to be put in her food.  Can anyone suggest anyway to tempt her to eat all the usual (chicken/meat/toast/b&b/cereal/biscuits/cake/have failed. She has not eaten now for 4 days.

Hi, you could try hiding them in peices of cheese or cheese spreads? Jars of fish/meat paste or pate spread on bread, pills stuck inside? Raw beaten or scrambled eggs then coat pieces of meat with it, rice pudding? :)

Hi there,

Our pup was anaemic and he refused to eat much - the only thing we could get him to eat was flash fried meat (chicken, turkey and tripe). He would also eat a little natural youghurt and raw egg.

I hope your girl picks up soon :(
