my 7 yrs E.S.S. has a very dry and cracked nose it has gone worse this last 18 months.She lives in and i know it improves when she,s outdoors,but can,t put her out to live now.Ido put cream on it to try and keep it soft, but it does,nt seem to help much.Anybody with any ideas?[NO BAT WINGS]

vaseline or try adding some supplement to her food, groomers do an excellent one, it really makes the dogs look healthy, and whats wrong with bats wings!

The Americans have a product called 'bag balm' does anyone know if it's availalble over here? Suppposed to be wonderful for this sort of problem (and great for housewives hands too :-))

Probably very similar, I've seen it recommended for all sorts of conditions equine and canine (as well as bovine <G>) and even human!! Where do you get yours?

Yep, Bag Balm, really good stuff, not only for sore teaties, but razor burns, briar scratches, rough pads, etc. etc. Never tried it on the nose though.....but like you said, would probably work and it does make your hands soft and smooth and feet too.

I used nappy cream on Loki's nose and add a cod liver oil tablet to her food and her nose is now pink and moist again.
