Hi guys
Luna (chocolate labrador) is itching a bit around the neck area and has started a bit of paw licking.
Now currently she's been on Nutro Choice Lamb&rice (we are now switching to chicken&rice), it has only been 1 bag o 15 kiloes, as it was a wrong buy (should have been the chicken&rice, but that's what u get, when you send others to do the shopping:-)
Well its been a couple of weeks now, the itching I mean, and its not fleas...I'm off to the vet's today anyway and will ask him, but I was wondering if it could be the lamb, she cant cope with....
Or if its the entire Nutro she's having probs with.
I live in Denmark and dont have all the options of dogfood brands as you have, so here's a list of the one's we DO have:
Hills, Royal Canin (including the Labrador), Eukanuba and Nutro (this is the ones I can buy in petstores) then there's a few others, a bit harder to get at, but still..... Fromms (NOT the Four Star, which would have been brilliant), uhm Lone Star, Regal bites. Then there's a few danish ones.....
What do you think of this one, its called Oliver's?:
Made with fresh chicken
naturally preserved with e vitamine and rosemary
Without soy, wheat, gluten, fishmeal and dairyproducts
No animal by-product, only pure chicken acknoledge for humans
Omega 3 and 6 in the right amount
Inulin (dont know if its the same in english, cant find it in the dictionary) for remarkable better digestion
Yucca Shidigera for better mobility
No genmodified raw materials
Protein: 25%
fat: 15%
fibers: 3%
fresh chicken: 17,5%
chicken in total: 54%
Kcal per kilo: 3994
Omega 3/6: 0,3%/1,7%
absorbtion(?)/digestion: 92%
Hope you have some idea, cause I'm lost.....

Hi Jeanette,
Did Luna start itching more when you started her on the Nutro? If so, I would take her off it and switch to another brand.
If she has been on Nutro for a long time, it's unlikely that lamb would cause a problem, although it is certainly possible.
She could also be having an allergic reaction if you changed your laundry detergent, if you used something new to clean carpets or floors, etc.
The food you mention from an allergy perspective sounds okay, it does not include most of the foods dogs are commonly allergic to or do not tolerate well.
