My two labs have both had dreadful sickness and diarrhoea over Christmas and New Year.  My vet said that their surgery was especially busy over the festivities with many other dogs experiencing similar symptoms.  They are both back to their bouncy selves now, only I wish the smell in the house had recovered as quickly!!  I was wondering if anyone had experienced anything similar with their darlings?

Yep, seriously bad tummy bug here just before xmas where the dogs were sick so much they were bringing up blood through bursting blood vessels. bedding has been thrown out (the two Akitas sleep in bed with us lol) matress steamed, bedroom carpet up, lounge carpet vazed till i can get a new one down, mental.

All better now tho! thank gawd!

Yes, my Lab Molly was quite poorly about a fortnight ago.  At the time I just put it down to the fact that she had eaten a couple of decomposing woodmice!  However she normally eats all sorts of dead wildlife with no real problems.  Lots of folk round our way have had sick dogs, someone told me it was a similar tummy bug that all the kids have had too.

Yep, my retriever was sick several times on christmas day, and wasn't well for a whole week. (She had an injection and antibiotics from the vet.) Today we were back at the vets with my collie who seemd to have colitis and has had two injections, antibiotics and steroids. Thank god for my staff discount!! Odd thing is that they hadn't eated anything out of the ordinary, so it must have been some kind of bug.
