Moose our three year old Lab has been showing some very peculiar behaviour. She gets so excited when she sees other dogs. She wants to go and say hello and introduce herself. The trouble is she gets herslf in a bit of a tizz sometimes and sort of keels over almost as if her legs give way. It is almost like a fit but only lasts about ten seconds and then gets up and seems ok. She doesn't do it everytime but over the last couple of weeks seems to be doing it a bit more ?

I don't think it can be epilepsy ?

Anybody else got any ideas ?

Hi Lucy, when my 3yr old male was young he had a couple of episodes when he just keeled over for no apparent reason, all over in a couple of secs like a faint or something. We never ever found out what it was & it never happened ahgain.  Thats the best I can come up with, hope he`ll be the same as my young one & it doesn`t happen again.

We had a Pomeranian who had a couple of episodes like this when our girls came into season.  Happened on about 3 occassions and never happened again.  We and the vet never found out what caused it and as i say he's now 8 and has never had any episodes in the last 5 years !

Hi lucy, annie our 9 month old lab does this, its just there soft nature i think, penny our first lab used to do the same to dogs and people,i used to take her on the bus and she would stare at people if they looked at her they would get a paw then the other one,and she would just flop, pretending to be shy.
