my bitch is 28 days from first mating she looks slightly fatter i,ve looked at teats for about 19 days now and they seem slightly bigger but the glands don,t appear to be up at al.Am i expecting to see something to early or should there be some indication now

The only way to be certain is to have her scanned, this can be done now!

no they dont have to be 5 weeks my bitch was 28 days and was comfirmed in whelp, im on day 32 now, she has become a little plumper, bigger teats and an occasional white discharge, she is also off her grub!!  looks like we could have pups at the same time, the vet should be able to tell you if shes pregnant! good luck x

My girls are always scanned at 28 days,  always confirmed correctly too!

i used a mobile scanner because my vets didnt have the equipment, but if your vets dont do one you could ask at another vets, the man who did mine covers the north west, so if your nearby i could give you his number, he was very nice and cost 30 pounds, your vets could always tell you if she was in whelp if you werent bothered finding out numbers.

Scans really are only good for confirming pregnancy, not for finding out numbers, if you need to know numbers it's best left until just before she is due to whelp and get an x-ray done.
