Topic Dog Boards / Health / EBT woth ongoing skin and anal problems
- By k southcott [gb] Date 28.12.04 15:17 UTC
I have a three year old EBT who is a re home. She has had a terrible life but is fantastic. She suffers still with ongoing skin problems. About every three weeks she has to go to the vet to have her anal glands emptied. this is normally accompanied by a flare up of her skin problem, red rash round her bottom, sore, red feet with blisters between her toes which pop and are weepy and the odd scabby spot on her skin round her body. She gets very frustrated and rubs her bum and licks and chews her feet so she is always taken to vet straight away to stop her suffering. She has an injection and  a course of what I believe are antibiotics for a few days and then she is ok until next time.  I have had EBT's before and know of the skin complaints and this is heightened by her background and the fact she does not heal very quickly, she nearly died after being spade because she would not heal. Any general ideas help would be appreciated I feel I owe my little girl all my efforts to make her life a good one now.
