Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / fussy bitch affecting pup ?
- By Guest [gb] Date 23.12.04 22:21 UTC
i have a bitch in whelp(due boxing day, hmmm, praying shes not early !!)she is being very fussy, i wouldn't normally pander to it but being so close i realise she needs to keep her energy up,and so have added cheese, tuna, sardines, egg to her meals just to tempt her, have put a bit of glucose in her water now and again, what i have noticed though is that my pup(6 mths) has been acting differently with regards to eating as well(before all the tempting started) he will not eat unless she does,he waits for her to start, they will only eat if together with bowls side by side, sometimes sharing(i'm sure hes not behaving submissively though,as its quite obvious when he does)if she dissmisses what shes been given he will too!!!!even if its his favourite.its not a huge problem, and i realise it wont go on for much longer, but wondered if anyone else has experienced this, also do many of you recommend a chicken type of broth to offer her after whelping if she will take it or will water/milk with glucose suffice?thankyou and happy xmas to you all at champdogs.
