Springer spaniels come in liver and white, black and white or tri colour (black/ white with tan points).
Cocker spaniels could be the breed that you are thinking of, these do come in golden.

Hi Matt, sorry but there's no such thing as a Golden Springer Spaniel unfortunately-English Springers only come in black & white, liver & white or either colour with tan markings and Welsh Springers only come in red & white.  Are you perhaps thinking of an English Cocker Spaniel, which do come in gold in addition to other colours?  Hope that helps. :)

Perhaps, but the colour of the Sussex is very rich and best described as golden liver and is very different from the gold seen in Cockers, hence why I suggest English Cockers as an alternative as the guest was after a golden dog :)
