Spice is weighed every 2/3 wks., at her weigh-in this week,she has reached a weight of 24kgs? she's a border collie.She has a thick 'winter coat' on at present and her usual steady weight is around 21 1/2 to 22kgs. could the fur weigh that much more through the winter? She is as active as ever and I can feel her ribcage and she seems lean under her coat.
She gets lots of walks and 'free' exercise off lead,plays football and is very energetic,typical border collie :D
Do your dogs gain much weight from a winter coat,dependent on the breed?
I'm dreading the moult :D :D I may make a new rug!
