Just because there is a club for a type of dog does not mean it is a recognised breed.
The ISBT is not a recognised breed in the UK

Just gonna say that was my question, just signed up.
could you answer any of the other question,
Is it true that in the ISBT line greys( blue) are much easier to find
Why are they not recognised in the uk, as they are from ireland are they recognised there, what about usa recognised there.

The Irish Staffordshire Bull Terrier is not recognised by the United Kingdom Kennel Club. BUT it is a breed. I can tell an ISBT from a normal SBT and a APBT they have different distinctive looks and most of them look alike due to the fact that the gene pool is still quite small as the breed is still being re-established mostly in the Merseyside area. They are the best type of dog you could ever imagine to find. Obedient, friendly, happy, loving although not for the inexperienced or weak minded owner. Although I was a new/beginner owner with the breed and I managed to bring one up pretty good. The dog can be very destructive perticularly on wooden panel fences which I have had to replace due to the strong jaws and high energy levels of the dog.
loyal, friendly, loving , happy, so the same as a sbt then ?
