
KC/BVA CANINE HEALTH SCHEME CHANGES TO SCHEDULES AND FEES FOR 2005
Following consultation with the Breed Clubs, the BVA/KC/ISDS Eye Scheme Panel has agreed that the following breeds will be subject to the specified schedule changes, effective from 1 January 2005:
a) Alaskan Malamutes move onto Schedule 1 for hereditary cataract (HC)
b) Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers move onto Schedule 1 for generalised progressive retinal atrophy (GPRA)
c) Japanese Shiba Inus move onto Schedule 3 for glaucoma (G)
d) Spanish Water Dogs move onto Schedule 3 for glaucoma (G)
Please note that results of examinations for conditions on Schedule 1 of the eye scheme are published by the Kennel Club. Results for Schedule 3 conditions are not published, but are collated and used for research purposes.
The BVA has issued revised fees for 2005 in respect of the Hip and Elbow Dysplasia Schemes as follows:

5 or more dogs (same owner) £19.96 (£23.45)
Re-scoring/Re-grading under appeal £50.00 (£58.75)
Duplicate copy of certificate £14.64 (£17.20)
Joint Hip & Elbow £46.80 (£55.00)
The fees in respect of the BVA/KC/ISDS Eye Scheme are to be increased as follows:

Litter screening:
per litter of 5 puppies or less £25.79 (£30.30)
per puppy for litters with more than 5 puppies £5.36 (£6.30)
Duplicate copy of certificate £14.60 (£17.15)
