This makes interesting reading - apparently a restriction on how many dogs can be walked at once? Its half way down the page.

Strange! When I look at the PDF file I can't find that bit! The section on dogs starts on page 57 (Unless there is a bit I've missed somewhere else in the document.)

QUOTE---

Dogs

Replace dog byelaws with a new, simplified system which will enable local authorities and parish councils to deal with fouling by dogs, ban dogs from designated areas, require dogs to be kept on a lead and restrict the number of dogs that can be walked by one person.
Give local authorities, rather than police, sole responsibility for stray dogs.

Yes Smudgley, but if you look at the botton you will see a link marked "Further information". If you click on that link you will find a link to a PDF document, "Clean Neighbourhood and Environment Bill". Scroll this to page 57 and you will see what I'm talking about.

Here you go - in HTML format:

Argh - I can't find it either. Someone on the other site I saw this on mentioned a restriction of 4... someone else wondered if it might be 2 in order to comply with the Hunting Bill - I don't know how these things work though...

From what I have read elsewhere, I believe that the suggested restriction is for four dogs walked by professional dog-walkers.
There have been instances, especially in city parks, where some professional walkers have had up to 24 dogs under their 'control' and these have caused problems with members of the pulic exercising their dogs.

24 dogs  do you mean with ONE person ?

Hi Lel
I have posted before about dog walkers so won't go on about it but...  We have four who regularly use our nearby woods, one takes no more than four dogs.  The others take between eight and twenty each, yes with one person.  It is a real problem for people round here (and not just those with dogs).

  i look after 21 dogs on a daily basis and no way would i take out more than 2 when on my own, my own 3 yes no problem, and when i have had someone else with me we have taken 5 but 2 are on leads and 3 loose so we still are able to control the dogs.
