Hi

I know that the Westie was breed from the Cairn but will they get on? My partner has decided that we should get a Cairn as a companion to Angus the Westie in New Year. My concern is that Angus will not take to the Cairn (although he's very good with visitors dogs)

Any thoughts?

I don't know if this is any help but my friend has 2 Westie's a bitch and a dog. My 1 year old Cairn gets on like a house on fire with the dog but the bitch hates him, a bit of jealousy maybe? I don't know but the boy's get on great guns!
I really think it's down to the individual dog's though.

You should try the Southern Cairn Terrier Club - they have a web site, or, you can call one of the contact names for Cairns on the Kennel Club web site.

Dogs really do not care much what breed they hang around with - I've had a Cairn, with two GSDs and a Yorkie.  I now have two Cairns.
