I have seen these advertised are they a real breed it says there the real snow dog dogs. They look really cute would they make a good pet it says they race them.

They are a mix, designed for no real purpose at all I don't think - given a cutesy name and marketed in a way that will "con" people into thinking they are an ideal pet - which for many people they won't be :(

They are designed for a purpose, to make loads of money from gullible people! Yes they look cute, but then so do most dogs. Despite what they claim they will never be a recognised breed, they are cross breeds and those of us who have either Sibes or Mals know that they are hell on legs anyway, so the thought of crossing them together doesn't bear thinking about! Get one and I can guarentee you will regret it. And no, as they are crosses, they can't race them, as they have to be KC registered to race.

Hi do agreee withh all comments . A huskamute is just a siberian  husky crossed with an alaskan malamute.  Both as a breed on their own are a handfull, let alone mixing the two! YOU NEVER KNOW HOW BIG THEY WILL GROW! will they be a medium size of a husky or a big bear like a malamute or even bigger
(trust me, i saw this cross and it was bigger than your average malamute)?

You just don't know what you will be taking on or which traits the dog will have. Best to stick to a pure breed, that way you have some idea about dogs temperment, size, traits etc.

I have seen these dogs advertised locally.

I know of a few people that have had them, and are experiencing major health problems with them.

They are a crossbreed, which means that they cannot be raced with any British organisations apart from one - which you have to register with before you can race. It's very time consuming and you might not even get accepted. And then there are the hip problems which would stop you from racing anyway.

The "real" Snow Dogs (if you mean from the movie) were Siberian Huskies and Alaskan Malamutes - not a cross between the two.

If you want to race, why not visit some rallies (it's rally season!), meet some dogs and their owners, and get a healthy, KC registered pup.
