So worried mated my bitch a week ago she,s been fine until yesterday as she went up the stairs [yes i know dogs should,nt go upstairs] she bunny hopped them then today she is struggerling to get up which i,m not letting her try now but she can,t jump on her chair either yet she seems o.k. walking she,s not lame or limping can,t see anything in her paws i,ve gone over her and she does,nt seem to hurt anywhere. she,s 3 will be 4 march this will be her first litter if she has taken as her last mating we had no puppies i,m just so worried anyone any ideas

What breed is she? It certainly sounds as if she's hurt her back somehow - do dogs ligments get soft in pregnancy like humans do?

I'd say a vet visit is in order - sooner rather than later.

she,s an e.s.s. if no improvement tomorrow will go to vets i,ve gone through a million things trying to think what she could have done i changed the carpet runner todat so there was a time when just the laminated floor was bare and you know what there like on that also i was having carpet fitted so yesterday and today there were some carpet treads that have those gripping teeth on the floor but can,t find any punture signs.If she has some sort of strain will the vet be able to give her anti-inflamatories?

It sounds to me as if she has back pain of some sort.

It may be that she pulled a muscle or something when being mated, the vet will know whats the best treatment but make absolutely sure he knows she has been mated. I know its different but I had a young dog who put his back out the first time he mated a bitch and had to see a chiropractor to get it sorted. 

In between times Arnica wouldn't do her any harm at all.
