I'm not asking this because its a problem but I'm just curious if other Staffie owners have experienced this behaviour.
As I have said before our 8 mth old female Staff sleeps in the bed with us, I know some people will think this awful but anyway....
Just before bedtime after she has been out for her last toilet she will have a mad 10 minutes or so. We're on the bed watching telly and she will fling herself off the bed and run up and down the stairs and back on the bed and then bounce of the headboard and do it all again, this goes on until all of a sudden she'll flop and thats it for the night. She has done this since she was a pup, we leave a space between us on the bed so as we are not in her path and we just sit and watch and laugh.

my eldest sleeps on the bed too- hasnt done the behaviour you describe when in the bedroom but did used to do it in the living room when he was little- racing around like a loon and then just plonk himself down :)

My two are like a tornado whirling round the house.  Every staff either me or my parents have owned have had what we call 'mad moments' and it's one of things we love about being staff owners.

Mine does this! Particularly when he has been in the shower, it sends him loopy, he runs round the house at 100mph with a big grin on his face!!!

Buster has his mad five minutes on two occasions, [1] when he comes in for a walk, he's all calm while I take his lead off, he waits for me to go into the living room and then follows.  Immediately he has his crazy running up and down the house thing, which we find really funny, [2] when we buy him a pigs ear or a new chew, he initially does the pouncing around it and then once again runs up and down the garden, almost as if with joy!!

Hi,

Bosun (23 months old) has a mad half hour every night, usually starts by chasing his tail, then zooms round the coffee table and finally bounces like tigger round the room - all the time with a massive staffie grin on his face!
