Dear Champdog,

I am thinking of owning a bulldog, I would be grateful for any information concerning bulldogs, do's & dont's etc. Also any breeders within reach of berkshire.

I am an experienced dog owner, previously, 2 Labradors, 1 Collie cross, currently, one 12 year old Westie.

I am a bulldog owner and would just like to say that they are fabulous.
However, Bulldogs can be stubborn and wilful. They are also prone to health problems, so checking a Pup for hereditary problems is a good idea.

A good book for you to read is 'Bulldogs Today' by Chris Thomas .... he's also a breeder (Kingrock Kennels), so contacting him may be a good start.

I would just like to say, I owned a bulldog for twelve years,Her name was Mavis
also answered to gremlin and maggie [why dont ask]
She was the best dog I ever owened She had a two year fight with ear cancer and she WON..Coming up too thirteen she died in front of me with a heart attack and is buried
in my garden with music playing and a bottle of wine we all shed a tear to a great dog.
