When my GSP came into season a few weeks ago I had 3 ovulation tests carried out before I had her mated.  The vet advised that she was ready and when the best days were for the mating to be carried out.  I had her mated twice over a 3 day period and then sat and waited.  She never conceived and as far as I'm aware never absorbed.  I'm now wondering what the cause could be.  She never went through any visable changes and I'm now wondering if she could be infertile and if theres anything that I could do next time round in preparation before a mating is carried out, please help

I don't trust the premate tests at all.............last time my bitch was mated 7 days BEFORE the premate said she was ready and caught, but sadly lost her litter.  Another of my girls I had 3 tests done, the last one said to retest in 3-6 days, I had her mated that same day  and she caught again.  So if I had waited until I got the green light from the tests, then we would have missed for sure.

I know sometimes this is the only option if the stud dog is a distance away, but I now use 'the stud dog knows best' rule.

Good luck for next time.
