does anyone have any experience of gurgling puppies...sounds like there is fluid in her gullet...she seems to slosh as she walks and you get the impression she'd feel better if she burped. She's brought up a bit of clear bile, but is eating and drinking normally. She was on Eukanuba , but I am putting her on the billinghurst barf diet. I wondered if it was indigestion? Any ideas? Could it be this heat perhaps? She is as happy as larry, bright as a button and doing all normal puppy things.

You don't say what age your pup is? Our youngest (who is now 14 months) was fed BARF from weaning. 3 or 4 times in her first year she sounded like she was sloshing full of liquid, we would starve for 24 hours then feed cooked chicken & rice, small amounts 5 - 6 times a day until she was solid again. However if you are at all worried GO TO THE VET! There is a homeopathic remedy for indigestion etc that we give the dogs if we feel they are a touch uncomfortable (we use it too) called nux vom. available from health stores etc

I am always rather cautious of "gurgling" type noises, especially in my big hounds, as it can be a sign of bloat, or an indigestion problem which could result in bloat/tortion. Really think the vet should have a listen, so long as you have a sensible vet & not one of the ones who give a quick jab( heaven know what of!!) tell you to buy some extortionately priced complete veterinary diet (which by chance he happens to sell!!) and charges you £40 for the pleasure!
