Hi Richard,
Probaly not what you want to hear, but i would bring her into bed or at least the bedroom with you :)
I have owned dogs constantly since i was a wee lass and i have never segregated them from me,their family, why have you got her seperated from your other dog?You may need to join Richard so you can reply,as this is starting to confuse me

I can guarantee you the whining will stop if you bring her in to your room :D
If one day for some reason you want to put her back in the kitchen, then you can slowly move her bed closer and closer to the chosen room until her bed is where you want it to be.
Your little dog is obviously distressed being left on her own.The whining must be driving you around the bend :(
good luck and bring the wee baby in with you,so you both can have a decent night's sleep ;)
