Does anyone know of any designs/plans on the web on how to make one? I know  how big/high etc to make it, but I would love  a proper design of one, especially one that you can take apart for storage, so my son can knock one up fairly easily.  I am hoping to use sterling board if thats ok, as its pretty waterproof.
Also, do pups ever get trapped by whelping/pig rails some people use - or are they always a good thing to have? I did think of buying a cardboard disposable one - but I think I can get a good one made for much less.
OR should I get some white cladding ( Like Snowsilk boxes) and make one? If anyone has ever done this I would love to know what fixings to buy and how to they made it, especially ideas for clamping down the vet bed.
It should be a busy Christmas as the pups are due on 28th Dec - which means she will probably whelp on "THE DAY" LOL. I am so excited, I cant tell you
Thanks for reading. :-)

I make mine out of contiboard from B&Q.  I am on to model number 3 now!  I simply take the dimensions I want for the inside and ad on 4 inches (approx) for the size of the base.  I make the front in 2 parts, so  it can be very low as you deliver the pups, and then you can slip the higher plank in place later..  Just mark where you need to drill to joint the corner, I use L brackets, bolts and wing nuts for ease of screwing up.    This make it simply to put up and take down for flat storeage.  You need to place the assembled top onto the base and mark a space either side x 2, to drill for bolts.  Fit heavier duty l Brackets to the sides to match these points.  Put bolts inot holes in base and fix with nut.  then you can just make slits in Vet bed to fit over the bolts, then place the assembled top section over, and tighten the L brackets down with wing nuts, clamping the vet bed firmly in place.  It means it takes a couple of minutes to change the vet bed each time, but is impossible for the bitch to dig it up, or for pups to slip underneath it accidentally.  Fit plastic U channel to frton, so the loose panel can be slid in when wanted.  On my latest model I fitted 4 castors to the base, but on the previous ones it Fit 2 2"2" battons to lift it clear of the floor.  Hope this all makes sense!
bye

Wow, thanks :-) Could you post a link for the plans on "bring and buy" please.
I have had a search around and cant find it.
I like the sound of the B&Q one, I'll show my son the instructions and see if he can make one of these, for me. Gwen, what did you use for the base? Will sterlingboard be ok or should I use chipboard/something else.
Thanks so much.
