Hi my bitch is due for worming but I am planning to mate her at the end of December, she is due in season any time now, is it ok to use Drontal, which I normally use or do I need to go to the vets to get a special wormer?  (I buy Drontal off the internet because it is cheaper!  But I don't want to cause any harm to save some money.)  Obviously I will seek vetinary advice about worming when she is pregnant.

I used Drontal on both my girls 2 weeks before mating with no problems.

I wouldn`t use any chemicals so close to a mating & if I knew it was absolutely necessary because a fecal test had proved positive then I`d use a natural herbal wormer. You`ll only know if she needs worming by testing first :)
