although not ready yet, how do i find the right stud dog for my dachshund as i want to make sure i do everything the right way

Hi Melody, I would suggest the first place to go is back to the breeder of your puppy. They will be the best people to help you out. They should know of a good stud dog, and will be able to advise you on any health checks you will need to do with your bitch before you mate her. If you don't speak to your breeder, for whatever reason, are you a member of a breed club? Someone there should be able to give advice.
