my bitch was mated then again48 hours later, but the next day the stud dog[ the same one] mated her again and she let him will she be o.k.?

This happened to my bitch but with a longer interval. No reason why she shouldn't be fine. (My bitch had 3 pups, no problems)

In natural situations the bitch would be mated many times throughout her acceptance period.  It is quite natural.  Allowing the dog and bitch to mate throughout the acceptance period (with about 48 hours between matings) optimises the chance of there being live sperm when she ovulates.  It just isn't usually convenient with stud dogs maybe booked to other bitches and with often a long distance to travel.

Each time that we have used our own stud-dog on our bitches, they have mated them several times over a period of 4 or 5 days.

Each time we had a litter of at least 11 puppies, and this was from a dog who was nearly 11 years of age the last time we used him!

It is our belief that it does neither the dog or bitch any harm and you are more likely to catch the bitch at the correct time.

It also keeps the stud-dog happy and quiet!

The only `problem` which isn`t really a problem is that you can`t calculate with as much accuracy when the babies are due but as we watch them like hawks anyway when the whelping time is near it makes no difference!
