I have just bought a new phone.  Samsung E700, great little phone but I can't send photo messages.  It says network failed.  Why?  I can send normal messages with no problem and everything else works ok, I know I am going through the motions correctly, could it be because it is on Pay as you go?  Any help would be appreciated.

With some models of mobile phones you have to phone the network to activate picture messages. I had to do this with my last 2 phones although it never said anything about that in the handbook

As cath said i think you have to set it up...Ive previously owned a E700, You usually do it along with your wap settings.

They do take a long time to send and if its not a good signal it will fail half way through - if its doing that then its more of an area thing, but if its not even attempting to send one then i would say it hasnt been set up. Call your network provider for more help :)

I've got a Samsung E700 too, I had to phone Orange for them to send the settings through, they sent them on a sim update very quickly and it worked instantly.

SORTED!  I phoned Orange and I had to do an upgrade where I registered my new sim and they transfered my credit and number to it, the settings were then activated on that sim.  I knew I could find somebody on here with the required knowledge!  Now I have just got to re-install 46 names and numbers!

Same here, I saved my phonebook to phone from old sim card, then put new card back in and saved them to new sim.
