HI,

I am picking up a bitch dog 2 years old of a friend in Ireland, she nolonger wants her and I really love her and have since they first had her as a pup.

We are going over on the ferry and I am wanting to know if there are any problems getting a dog from Ireland. What I mean is do I need any sort of import licence. The ferry are ok with me traveling with a dog.

No nothing needed.  If she is regidtered with the Irish Kennel club you will need her papes and a certified pedigree from the Irish Kennel Club if you wihs to register her with the UK Kennel Club as an imported dog.

there is no restriction traveling with dogs between Eire and UK.

hi i live in ireland .i travel to england often with my dog and have done so since 1995.their are no regulations regarding dogs ( only something about whippets if a few are brought over ) we keep our dog in the car ... the ferries have large dog cages on board but as these are kept next to the cars they are very fumey from the exausts.so wouldnt conside these.
