I won't go into the whole story but suffice to say last night Zelli (My new 5 month old kitten) found a gap where the washing machine pipes are and got through there.  Now when I look down  where the pipes go besides the large waste pipe which comes down from the bathroom too (I assume) there's the surrounding area (Boxed either side) and a hole which I'm assuming goes down to the foundations???????

I am so worried about her, I heard her miaow once last night and so did a friend so at least I wasn't imagining it, I put some tuna down the hole and a plate of tuna by her exit route thinking this might help.    Is there any likelihood of her finding an escape route from the foundations to the outside world.    I am waiting on help to lift the kitchen floorboards now.    Anyone have any help/suggestions at all?   I just on the brink of tears yet again.

Firstly - don't panic - cats are VERY good at surviving the strangest things - we had one that went missing for 2 weeks - was eventually released from a neighbours garage after they came back from holiday.......

Re escape routes - can you go around your house and see if there are any loose 'air bricks' - these are the ones with holes in them - she may come if you call her from there.  Failing that - leave the bowl of food where it is - she will smell it sooner or later and come out for supper (warming it in the microwave will help it smell even stronger).  Did she have her supper before she dissapeared?

Please try not to worry - a cat I had once got under the floorboards when the boiler was put in and we didn't know until we heard him scratching around. We put food down near the hole he had gone in and within a day or so (when he was really hungry I'm assuming) he sniffed it out and came out, none the worse for his imprisonment.

I'm sure yours will find his way out.  Hope it all works out well.

She is out!!!!!!   Not of her own accord really!    I don't have floorboards but huge sheets of chipboard so I had one lifted and looked through the foundations and out popped a little head blinking in the torchlight.   So I went to get a toy attached to my bootlace to try & entice her...by the time I came back she was where the board had been so I grabbed her & she's in the bedroom - barracaded!!!!!!  Panic over, I'm so glad, one life down for her and one more wrinkle for me!

One thing - with dogs at least if they've done wrong they will look suitably humbled...not cats...she came out thinking I was going to pamper to her every whim (And I did!).

Just posted then deleted it when I saw that she's out.   Glad you've got her back. :)

Hi Kath

Sorry I haven't been in contact.  The PC hard drive went in September and after it went to Time hospital, it came back very fit & well but without my OE address book!!!!!!  Everything I had in it was gone.....

Hope you're ok?
