I think you will find that frozen tripe IS green tripe?

If its frozen tripe for dogs then it is green tripe. Tripe that you buy in a butcher's shop for people is white and it has been processed and bleached.
Most dogs love green tripe but if you cook it it stinks so I would feed it raw [unfrozen].

My lot love green tripe,(especially Tia, another story) and I am lucky, my butchers is licensed by DEFRA and can get any amount of it, I also live close to local abbatoir ;). The frozen tripe is green tripe and the only difference really, is that my dogs love ripping the chunks of fresh stuff.

I get mine from the local pet shop. No-where around here sells it fresh :(
I reallly wanted it in its natural state so they could eat it out in the garden. He doesnt eat it defrosted he needs it cooked [which stinks] thought he might prefer it in chunks .

Don't know if its of any help but Landywoods do Tripe 'chunks' as well as mince. There food is 24 hrs from slaughter to frozen...I know its still frozen but you can;t get much quicker than that.
Just cos its frozen doesn't mean you can't cook it...only draw back is that you need to order bulk

Nicky,
Redcastle do frozen tripe chunks. Whole tripes cut into chewable size portions and frozen. Or phone the Dundee abbatoir and ask to buy whole tripes, they will sell them but you need REALLY sharp scissors or knives to get through them!
Will try to get hubby to go to the slaughter house and get him some. Thank you
