Hi, I was wondering if anyone has any advice about my cat. He was neutered on Thursday and although he is eating and drinking and being friendly with us, he hasnt ventured much from his bed [which is not like him] He hasnt got a temperature or being sick but he just isnt himself. We also got our dog done the same day and her is hairing around like a daft thing. If anyone has had the same problem I would love to hear how it went. If the wee guy is no better by Monday morning I will take him bak to the vet for a check, but I am sure he isnt ill.

He could be in pain. He could have an infection. He could have reacted badly to the anaesthetic. The best thing is to contact your vet for advice.

Nicky, get Simba to the vets. It sounds like he is in pain. Josh was running about as soon as the anaesthetic wore off.

I'd take him straight back to the vets my Oz was running around as soon as he got home.

Thank you everyone. I will take him down to the vet for a check. He doesn't seem to be in pain as when I go to him he rolls over to have his tummy tickled and purrs really loudly. I was wondering if he won't come through the room as my husband is there and it was him that took him to the vet on Thursday [ I didn't have the heart]. He is very much my cat and although he puts up with other people it is me who he wants a fuss from. Will see how he goes tomorrow. He is  still jumping down from his bed to his litter tray so he can't be sore. Pedigree cats are so wimpy!!

If e's jumping, purring and being stroked I doubt their is much wrog with him maybe he was sulking. You never know with cats they do occasionaly make their dislike known.

Take care and good idea to take him to the vet to check.

Good news, he seems to have forgiven us and is back to his old nutty self, first thing this morning he was chasing Buzz [the dog] around the house and wrestling with him - not a great idea as poor Buzz has stitches in!!! I am so relieved because I was feeling guilty enough about getting them done as I don't like putting any of mine under a general anesthetic. One of the conditions when we bought Simba from his breeder was that he was neutered at one year. You can't really have a entire tom cat in the house anyway. Well gulit trip over and back to "normal" for us. Thanks for all the advice though.

Pleased to hear it's turned out well
