My 2 young teenage daughters, both under 16 are slyly smoking. I find odd cigarette ends in their bins and other tell tale signs. I have already tried talking to them but it still happens. Any suggestions. Someone suggested  making them smoke a whole packet till they feel sick. Dad and I have never smoked and we are very anti. I want to try and stop this now before it becomes too an important part of their life.

The more you rage at them the more determined they will be to carry on. I've found the best way to deal with teenagers and this sort of thing is to calmly tell them that you know they're doing it, that you think it's a very stupid thing to do (but don't call them stupid - big difference) and that you don't want it done in your house.

Say what a shame it is they feel they have to 'go along with the crowd' like this, that you'd hoped they had more self-confidence. When you can smell smoke on them, say "Pooh, you stink! Go and put your clothes in the wash and have a shower". And say how proud of themselves they will be able to feel when they stop.

Actually dealing with kids and teenagers is not that much different from dealing with dogs so its not that strange.

when they behave you give them abit of liver???? :D sit them opposite a cigi and say "leave" and then give them a biscuit!!! :D or how bout clicker training... ;) is that what you ment??? :D

Not sure on advice, I'm only a young teenager, but myself HATE going with the flow and refuse to do anything any of my friends do, ie smoke, get drunk etc...

How about getting them to sit and smoke so many they are sick!!!!!
I started smoking atthe age of 16. Gave up fully when 7 moths pregnant with my second and If I have one now I want to throw up. Been given up over 5 years!!!!

When i was a teenager many moons ago, my dad always said if either me or my siblings  smoked he would cut off our fingers, it only worked with me, i was so scared of him!!!!!!!

i was told if i was caught smoking i would be made to eat it
