Hi
I'm thinking about getting a boxer dog & would like to know whether it's better to go for a male or female puppy. It will be around a lot of children so obviously I need to make sure I get the right one.
Thanks

I don't think its so much a case of male or female...both can be good or bad with children. The choice of male of female is down to other factors.eg can you cope with a bitches seasons, would you prefer a bitch as they are smaller etc.
The thing to do is to buy from a reputable breeder who has done all neccessary health tests and offers life long support and advice.

Hi guest why not register then you can ask more questions, but in the mean time take a look at this link

If you decide to get a Boxer please make sure that you buy one from a reputable breeder. That is a breeder who places as much importance on temperament and health as on appearance. This type of breeder will know the temperament of the pup's parents, grandparents, ggrandparents, etc. If you buy from anyone else you will not know what characteristics your pup may have inherited, and it is important that any dog should be well-tempered, especially around children.
Males are generally larger than females, but both sexes are very strong. In my experience dogs can be a little more affectionate and a bit less independent than bitches, but the differences are minimal.
