i am thinking about getting a huskie, but i would like to know how they are with cats and smaller dogs

Same as anything - some are okay and some are not.

Unfortunately, they have a high chase instinct and so cannot be trusted with small animals. There are many owners out there who own huskies who have lost cats and other pets even though they have had the Huskies since pups!
