My friends 11 month old Patterdalexfell terrier has been seriously ill. And still not 100% she will pull through.
I am just wondering if anyone has heard of a Virus going round, as she believes she brought it in on her shoes from the dog show that was at hers last weekend.
It is classed as an indescriminate Virus. She didnt go off her food, she had a bit of Diorreah(sp) and lathergy. But the morst of it was a temp of 155 (and nope thats not a mistake, the vet checked it twice with 2 diufferent thermometers) Her Whiteblood cell count was through the roof, and her red cell count was rock bottom. She shouldnt be here at all.
My dogs were there the same weekend as we believe the virus was picked up. So keeping a very close eye on my two.
Has anyone else heard anything of the same symptoms
(It is not Parvo, distemper etc)

Bumping it up just in case anyone is missing it as it has got so far down in active topics.
Has anyone heard of any other dogs with similar symptoms?
And a sort of warning to keep an eye on your dogs as if this is going round, it is a very bad virus :(

We are seeing quite a few dogs with these sorts of signs at the moment - there does seem to be a very nasty bug doing the rounds.  I don't know if it's coincidence, but most of those affected seem to be fairly young (i.e. 3 or younger).  I can't really offer much advice other than if anything at all seems amiss, see a vet sooner rather than later.  Incidentally, there's also a lot of kennel cough around (in London anyway), we're seeing 2 or 3 cases a day.

I can't believe that a dog's temperature reached anything like 155F, that's impossible.  Surely this is a typo and it was 105F?

Anyway, that's not the important thing. I hope he recovers soon.
