Can anyone tell me what the rules are for getting someone else to move your dog at Crufts. I was so thrilled that Ruby qualified and really looking forward to it but it now transpires that I will be 7 1/2 months pregnant and not up to much running around. I'm knackered now and I'm only three months!! Any advice appreciated. Sam.

Well done for qualifying(and the baby!), it's an ambition of mine which I have yet to fulfill! I regularly handled both of my mams dogs as we haven't transfered the ownership yet. On the entry form I now write her name as owner then me as handler, I should think it's the same for any show, including Crufts. I'm sure of I'm wrong someone else will come along and correct me!

There is no problem to get someone else to run (or even fully handle) your dog.  You do not need to put the name on the entry form.  All you need to do is tell the steward you have a runner and can they let the judge know!  runner is best then standing at the side of the ring (outside) or by the table.  (I don't like it when the runner is standing next to the handler all though out the class!)

At crufts last year I was running a dog for a friend...and was only told on the day!!! they got to the show and basically said "roxanne can you run soanso for me" lol :D

So yea you don't need to write anything down, just let the steward know and get it sorted with the runner where it will be best for them to stand!

Good luck with both the showing and the baby!

You can easily get someone else to handle for you, but it really is no problem doing it yourself - i was at b'ham dogs show a few years ago on my due date and had Jade within 2 hours of getting home!
Tiredness is very common in the first trimester.
