hi i have been feeding my lab who is 6 months old on autarky complete food for the last few months but recently he had an incident where i had to starve him for 24hours and then gave him some coley and potaotes to settle his stomach and then when i gave him some autarky again he didnt want to know so i (foolishly i now realise) got him some nature diet and added some to his autarky and we havent looked back since! he adores this combo and hasnt left a scrap since i did once try giving him just autarky and he looked very miffed and didnt eat a bite. i know if i left him long enough he would eat but i feel happy to buy nature diet as he loves it so much and his coat is fantastic but my question is this. i have been giving him a pack of nature diet in the morning with a third of a cup of autarky and the same again in the evening. is this too much or not enough??i read somewhere on one of the autarky packs that a dog of his size should be on 3 packs a day?? so i figured if i gave him 2 and a third of his autarky allowance he would be fine he isnt overweight and i can feel his ribs and the trainer and vet are happy with his weight but he is a big boy he is 26kg and is going to be very big. so can anyone advise on amounts to feed him. he is always hungry so i cant judge whether he is getting enough or not cos if i fed him all day he would still eat so i cant judge it on that. but i also am wary of over feeding him as i dont want him to get fat!

Hi
No one will be able to tell you how much to feed your dog, as amount vary from dog to dog, you just judge it on whether your dog is happy and if they are fat thin or just right, if they start to put on weight then obviously drop the amout you are giving and vice versa.

I have two girls of the same breed, the larger of the two eats almost 50% less than the smaller girl.
