I have a Labrador bitch who has still not had a first season (unless it went unnoticed) she is 18months.
Just wondered what is the latest any of you have known for a first season please?
I best add she is hip scored 5:5 and has had 2 clear eye certificates.

A friend of mine has a top quality bitch who is now 21 months and just started her first season!
So there is still time, she will when she's ready.
Good luck

Thanks. Maybe she is related to my girl :)
It is a worry tho. I have known bitches that never have a season :(
it seems to vary even within litters - my lab bitch had her first season at 16 months, her other three female litter mates were, 7 months, 11 months and not yet (18 months). Their mother did not have her first season until 24 months.
I would not worry until you cross the 24 month mark.

my fcr bitch was nearly 20months....I never thought it would happen. Littermates were earlier.

Just breathe a sigh of relief and say "thank-you"! I am sure she will be OK and believe you me, it makes life easier.

My friend's bitch was 2 1/2 before she came in season. He mated her just in case she went another 2 1/2 years and she had 9 puppies.

Good News!!!! One of them has just come into season at the ripe old age of 2 years 7 months!! Hooray!!

If any of my girls are due close together, one normally brings the other in season too!
