hi all, my bullmastiff pup is nearly 6 months, a few weeks ago inside 1 of his ears was red and waxy. i took him to the vet and he prescribed some some very very expensive ear drops!!..the problem went within a couple of days!!...great. Now it has come back. when ever he visits his sister and plays all weekend with her he comes home with red ears (mainly from being tugged around by them) and now has progressed to the red flaky condition again. the other ear is fine!!..ive read many posts on here recommending thornit powder......befor i go and spend another £25 on ear drops.....any one think that thornit could be the answer????...any advice greatly appreciated.

Hi, did the vet have a good look at his ear. This sounds similar to Emma who had the same problem a few months ago. We got drops and cream to cool the outer ear, this worked for a few days but came back again. Another trip to the vet showed the tiniest ulcer way down in the ear canal. We got ABs for 5 days and her ears have been fine since.
