does anyone know if this breed is avaialable in the UK?
I would appreciate any info as Im very interested in this breed

None here, and they are primarilly for working, hunting and guarding instincs are strong.

This "catahoula leopard dog" is not recognized as a breed by AKC (American Kennel Club), neither by KC nor FCI (The Fédération Cynologique Internationale / the World Canine Organisation).

The full name is Louisiana Catahoula Leopard dog, it is recognised in several countries, look here.  http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/catahoula.htm

Dawn, sorry to say but none of the following associations/clubs/registry are official governing bodies in canine registrations in any country.

Recognition
UKC, SKC, ARBA, NALC, OREBA, APRI. Also a number of other rare breed club shows.  In Canada they are also recognized by a Rare Breed Club

UKC = United Kennel Club
SKC = States Kennel Club (which is in MS)
ARBA= American Rare Breed Association
NALC = National Association of Louisiana Catahoula
OREBA = Old Red English Bulldogges Association & Registry
APRI = American Pet Registry Inc.

I'm sure the Pet Lovers Association in the UK would happily register Catahoulas!

I am not interested in the Countries or organisations that don't, I pointed out the ones that do!
