I have a 16 week old pup he has 2 bald patches, on his back leg, he has been treated for fleas, mites etc. still nibbling his leg. Today vet done a skin scrape and it was clear. I was thinking in the night the pup sleeps next to me in his bed on floor. over the couple of nights he has been trying to get on the bed after I say no he starts to bite his leg. do you think he could be doing this for comfort. He also has had a problem with his Anal Glands and has had to have them emptyed twice could he be biting he's leg trying to get to he's sore bottom???

I am very surprised that you have had to have his anal glands emptied twice before he was 16 weeks old! so far I have never in my long life had to have a dog's anal glands emptied. How are his stools? Good firm stools should do the job for you as he passes them.

What breed is he? It sounds more like some form of allergy, whether flea, food or skin complaint. Some breeds are more prone to skin problems than other.

Regards, John

He's stool are firmish not as much  as my adult dogs, but they have shape and are not at all runny .he has never had a upset tummy yet. He is a rescue cross breed, he looks a black lab. I dont have any other health problems with him apart from his 2 bald patches one above the other and his anal glads. He eats puppy autarky(sp) 3 times a day. When I got him at 12 weeks old he was only being fed twice aday with a adult food. he does have a little bit of cereral (sugar free)with milk in mornings a tiny amount. No other treats at All
