Hi everyone,
We are finally getting our long-awaited Aussie puppy on the weekend of the 16th & 17th!!
He is a blue merle boy and possibly the nicest, most handsome Aussie ever :D :D. We've waited ages to get the pup we want, with nice breeding and (hopefully!) a good working temp. He is a Thornapple Climate Controlled puppy out of Gibbons Painted Lady who is a stunning red merle.
Anyway, now I've finished bragging, :D ;), does anyone have any nice pet names? Pref 2 sylables (sp) that you won't feel silly shouting across a field! Our other dog is called Tilly and before that we had a Belle and a Brig (Brigand).
I know you'll all be very jealous of me :D :D but don't let that put you off replying!!

He sounds wonderful :) My next Aussie would be a blue merle boy (if I have one) - I have a super, black-tri bitch called Tara who's 2. I am not very good at names (Tara is her registered name as we couldn't decide on a name :D ). I hope that you have lots of fun with him :)

Hi Lesley,
That's great - bet you can't wait for the day to go and pick him up! I've got a blue merle Aussie pup as well - he's 7 months now, and a real live wire! With the names thing, I spent weeks looking through names lists, books, internet, and came up with a few, but then kept changing my mind! I quite liked the name Logan, and I had another name decided on, which I can't even remember now - but anyway, he's ended up being called Jazz! (not very original I know, but it just suited him! - and as I like 2 syllables as well for use in obedience, he gets 'Jazzy'.
Anyway, best wishes with your new puppy!

I saw my first Aussie at a companion show last weekend - absolutley stunning and is definitely on my list of favourites :) Can someone answer me this though (and please dont think me silly  ) are they docked ? or do they have a natural bobtail ?
Thanks for your comments everyone, I am so excited, can you tell :D :D.
They are sometimes born with bob tails or three quarter tails but otherwise they are docked. I believe the bob tails run more strongly in some lines than others.
Hope to see some of you Aussie people at shows next year :)
Lesley :D
This is my third Aussie, and they've all been docked. I have seen a few Aussies round the shows with full tails, as of course in countries like Holland and Germany, docking has been banned, but they still come over to show at Crufts.

Thanks for all your help, I know we've been a bit neurotic but we were so glad to find a litter with the breeding we wanted!!
Hope we will meet up at some shows in the future so I can thank you in person, and show off our handsome boy :D
Lesley :)
Hi Lesley,
You weren't neurotic, just anxious....... and with good reason !!!!!!!!!! :-D
Hope he is everything that you want, and look forward to seeing piccies of him........
Will keep in touch, as we have been doing, via e-mail....

Hi good luck with your new pup. My dog Monty is 3 months and 1 day and we got him when he was almost 8 week. Puppies are great fun but hard work!
:-D I'm sure he'll be lovely! :-) I made a list of names before we got Monty. We liked Norman and Hecter! If I have more ideas I'll tell you. From Phoebe
