My 9month olds gsd has runny poo. This is the first time she has ever suffered with this problem. I have just started to give her raw garlic once a day, could this be a problem or is it to be more likely the medication she is on Cefaseptin?

cefaseptin is an antibiotic. Antibiotics disturb the normal gut flora and may cause diarrhoea.  Give probiotics or yoghurt daily.

Garlic is an antiseptic amongst other things; it should not cause diarrhoea.

As much as you like, a small tub of live yoghurt is a good start.

My dogs regularly have smoothies : live yoghurt, raw egg, banana and other fruit etc :D

Thanks Tohme. Next question, where can I buy probiotics, live yoghurt, fish oil etc. Is there a web site that delivers these items?

live yoghurt is available in your supermarket, my dogs love yeo valley.
probiotics, well yoghurt IS a probiotic, however if you want to give doses that are not diluted by the time they get to the gut then a multistrain probiotic from any health shop would be good; some need to be refrigerated, the micro encapsulated type are best.

FBO can be obtained from supermarkets or health food stores.

Personally I find Healthspan products to be of excellent quality and value and best of all they deliver! :D

They stock a wide range of supplements/vitamins etc and their service is excellent, they also produce a regular magazine.
