Hello Everyone
This is Jo, I have the 2 Border Collies, normally under RosieDollyJaz but I'm at work so have had to re-register!
We are now having a few issues with Rosie, you may remember that it always used to be Dolly but she is so much better now.
We are very worried about Rosie, everytime she see's a child she runs up to them and jumps up at them, at first we thought that she was just being friendly but we have since realised that she isnt!. I obviously put her on the lead as soon as we see a child but I really want to stop this problem. The other day I had her on the lead and a child wanted to say hello, I said 'no' to them but they didnt listen and she lunged at them and snapped. I told them to go away and they did. Shes also very afraid of anyone playing Football, I let her just watch them the other day (she had stopped I didnt make her) whilst on her lead, she didnt bark or anything, but I was very aware that she wasnt happy, as her ears were up and she looked on edge. As soon as she walked away I followed.
She also has a thing with Bikes and people running, I know this is the chase instinct coming out, but she never did this before it was always Dolly, it's like they've swapped roles!!
I have started to take them out on their own again and everytime we walk past someone and she is quite and say 'Good Quite Rosie' and walk on, as of tomorrow I am going to take treats with me to hopefully break this barking.
Could anyone help me at all and give any guidance.
Apart from that they are growing up and are lovely Collies.
Thanks Everyone
Jo

I'd love to help, but I really think your dog need to be actually SEEN by somebody who can read her body language to get to the very seat of whatever your problem is, rather than just suggest something which may/may not help or even make the situation worse. Can you ask your vet to put you in touch with a local APBC, UKRCB or APDT memeber with an interest in behaviour?

hello!
is it possible that because youve been concentrating on Dolly that you hadnt really been noticing little probs with Rosie?& now they are big you have started to notice them?
the football thing may be the noise of the kicking?
the kiddy thing?& the chasing
dont let any near her!!!! if you can get her "fixated" on you with a ball/toy titbit/exciting game, then you can use this to "turn her on to you" whenever you see a potentially "kiddy" type situation occurring!
use this toy to get her attention away from any chase situation too, have a play then reward her with a good chase game with her toy
