Hello dog lovers.
At first I want to apologise if I'm writing about topic that has been already mentioned here on the forum.I do it thought becuase if though I would love to search through it and check first if there's some answers to my question I really can't.I don't have enough time at all since I work a lot lately.Altough I need an answer because Im concerened I hope you will make an exception and help me out whenever you hold some answers or helpful infos.
I got a 10 months year old English Springer Spaniel. He's doing great and is really amazing dog apart from one thing that concerns me lately.
He's got a loose poo since a while and despise changing his food nothing changes.
He was fed Supadog dry food before the one for active dogs. Now we changed it to Supadog adult kind.Didn't want to make an extreme change since I thought it would be too much and because he was fed Supadog since he was a pup.
I will really appreaciate all of your help and advice in this.
Thank you very much and sorry again if I'm repeting the subject.
Greets for everyone

Even though you're still using the same brand, it is all different food. Did you work this food into the dogs diet first? If not, that is probably whats causing the 'loose poo'. You could try adding raw bones into their diet (chicken wings, ribs etc etc) that should firm it up.

Hi,
If food is the cause then changing within the same brand is really not much of a change, generally there are only minor differences in the ingredients.
First, I would discuss this with the vet. It is possible he caught a bacteria or other bug and he's fighting it off, but not completely. I would also worm him, if you have not done it lately.
If you want to change the food then I would switch to something completely different and perhaps one recommended for colitis or other digestive problems. You could try Naturediet or Naturediet light. You could try Burns . (You can order directly from Naturediet or Burns if you cannot find them in your area.) Both of these seem to work for a lot of people (their dogs, that is). If neither of these foods appeals to you, go for something like James Well Beloved or Arden Grange.
If it is the food, sometimes it's one ingredient that causes the problem and it does take a while to figure it out and find the right brand.

One of my girls has a sensitive tummy, we switched to Burns and it was fine, Chicken with brown rice, Lamb and brown rice, but when we tried Venison and brown rice it upset her again, if you ring Burns they will send you samples of their foods to try, just to see if it agrees with you dog.
Good luck

My dogs have sensitive tummies to chicken and causes the poo's. I dont get Burns or any of those other kinds so I have them on Nutro Natural choice lamb and rice...Hope you find a food that works for your dog :)
I give my dog chicken to firm up the toilet. The Vet also recommended bread and rice to do the same. Personally I would not give a dog chicken bones.
Is anyone giving your dog unsuitable extras? Some of our food is very likely to upset a dog's stomach.

Supadog puppy contains
Rice, poultry meal (min 14%), maize, herring meal, real chicken meat, poultry fat, sugar beet pulp, dried egg, brewers yeast. Contains natural anti-oxidants. NO ADDED COLOURS. Vitamins and minerals guaranteed until best before date.
Supadog adult pet contains:
Wheat, poultry meal, maize, poultry fat, dicalcium phosphate and calcium carbonate. Contains permitted EEC preservatives and colours. Vitamins and minerals guaranteed until best before date.
If your dog did well on the puppy food and has only been loose since moving onto the Adult diet I would suggest that, as wheat was not included in the puppy formula, that it may well be the culprit behind the problem.
Your dog may well do better on a diet that contains rice. Many dogs cannot tolerate wheat gluten.
