As a dog minder I am worried about keeping my house clean & the dogs free from disease but I have to say that I am a little confused. Environmental Health tell me that if I have dogs staying overnight they must be on a washable surface & I must clean with Virkon & also the dogs who stay overnight must have the kennel cough vaccine. To me this sounds daft - are the day dogs not going to be vulnerable to kennel cough & shouldn't I also be cleaning after the day dogs? They roam in exactly the same places as the holiday boarders & I've not been told they need to be kept separate. Also, having done various searches on this site, it would appear that Virkon is not necessarily the way to go. Any comments on any of this would be very gratefuly received.

Fagan stays overnight at his dog sitters sometimes and he hasnt had the kennel cough vaccine, in fact ive never been asked for his vaccination card.
